La legittima successione al Trono d'Inghilterra , Scozia e Irlanda , agosto 1714.

 

 

Re Giacomo III d'Inghilterra e VIII di Scozia .

Il 1 ° agosto 1714, la principessa Anna di Danimarca morì a Kensington Palace. Nei  precedenti dodici anni aveva usurpato il titolo regale, nonostante il fatto che suo fratello, il Re Giacomo III d'Inghilterra e VIII di Scozia , era vivo e risiede nel Ducato di Lorena (ora parte della Francia).

Nel 1701 il protestante principe d'Orange aveva dato il suo assenso per l'iniquo ed illegittimo, vista la natura dei suoi emanatori, "Act of Settlement", che escludeva i cattolici dalla successione. A condizione che al momento della morte di Anna il successore sarebbe dovuto essere un principe  prossimo in linea al trono e che mantenesse la (in)religione protestante. Nel mese di agosto del 1714 questo era l'elettore Giorgio I di Hannover.
Dalle disposizioni dell'Act of Settlement (1701) molti cattolici  erano nel 1714 esclusi dalla successione a causa della loro religione. Questo fanatismo eretico è il fondamento della dinastia Hannover-Windsor.
